The Banqueting House is the only complete surviving building of Whitehall Palace, the hall was used for grand royal occasions and events. Gawk at the ceiling, the only surviving in-situ ceiling painting by Sir Peter Paul Rubens, one of Charles I’s last sights before he lost his head. The King was executed outside in 1649.
